Privacy Policy

1. Overview

FishON! Pro is built on a simple principle: your fishing data is yours. Your trips, catches, spot names, GPS coordinates, photos, and preferences belong to you, and we never sell them, use them for advertising, or track you across other apps. This policy covers both the FishON! Pro mobile app (iOS and Android) and the FishON! Guide Portal (our web app for professional guides).

Where your data lives depends on how you use FishON!:

• On the free Scout tier, your data stays on your device — and, on iPhone and iPad, in your own private iCloud account.
• On paid tiers and in the Guide Portal, we sync your data to a secured cloud database so it is available across your devices and on the web.

This document explains exactly what we collect, where it goes, and who processes it on our behalf.

2. Information We Collect

FishON! Pro app

• Account information — your email address, and (if you use Sign in with Apple or Google) your name and email from that provider.
• Location — your device's GPS location, used only while the app is open, to center the map and find nearby conditions. We do not track your location in the background.
• Your fishing content — the rivers, sections, and spots you save (including their coordinates and notes), trip reports (including your catches and the field conditions you record), photos, and your target-species and condition preferences.
• Photos — photos you attach to catches, spots, or trips. In the current app version, these are stored only on your device.

FishON! Guide Portal

• Account & business information — your name, business name, and email address.
• Your guiding content — rivers, sections, fishing locations, trip reports (with catches and conditions), trip templates, and map points you create.
• Billing information — when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number; we retain only a customer reference, subscription status, and plan.

3. How Your Data Is Stored & Synced

• On your device — all app data is stored locally first.
• iCloud (iPhone / iPad only) — the app syncs your data across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit, inside your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
• Our secured cloud (Firebase / Firestore) — on paid tiers and in the Guide Portal, your data is also stored in our private, per-user cloud database so it is available across devices and on the web. Free Scout-tier app data is not stored in our cloud.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run FishON!. Each processes data only to provide their service:

• Google (Firebase) — account sign-in, cloud database, and file storage. On Android, Google Maps renders maps.
• Apple — CloudKit sync (iOS), Sign in with Apple, and App Store purchases.
• Google — Sign in with Google, and Google Play purchases (Android).
• Stripe — payment processing for Guide Portal subscriptions (web only).
• Federal & public data sources (USGS, NOAA/NWS, NDBC, NWRFC, NOAA Tides) — we send location coordinates or station IDs to these public services to retrieve weather, water, and tide conditions. We do not send them any of your personal or fishing content.

5. Public Share Links (Guide Portal)

The Guide Portal lets a guide generate a public link to a trip report to share with clients. Anyone with that link can view the trip content the guide chose to share, along with the guide's display name. Guides control what is shared and can manage these links. Do not include anything in a shared report that you do not want publicly viewable.

6. What We Do NOT Do

We want to be explicit about this:

• No analytics or crash-tracking SDKs — we do not embed third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
• No advertising — FishON! shows no ads and uses no advertising identifiers.
• No cross-app tracking — we do not use App Tracking Transparency tracking or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
• No data sales — we never sell or rent your data to anyone.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can:

• Export your data at any time from within the app — locations, trips (with catches and conditions), and a photo archive.
• Delete your data — remove individual items in the app at any time. To delete your entire account and associated cloud data (app paid tiers or Guide Portal), contact us at info@fishonpro.app and we will process the deletion.

8. Children's Privacy

FishON! Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, or deletion of, the personal data we hold about you by emailing info@fishonpro.app. We will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to what data is collected or how it is used, we will update the effective date of this policy and notify users through the app or portal. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
